I am seeking information on John True Batchelder (Bachelder) who served in the 1st Battalion MA Heavy Artillary during the civil war. I believe he was born in Chichester, NH abt. 1833. Lived in Concord, Merrimack NH. He was commissioned a 1st Lt in 1864.

I have a John True, b. abt. 1799 and there were a lot of Batchelders around. I was just looking at a genealogy of Richard Currier in the Ancestry catalog and came accross a Daniel Currier, son of Hannah (Batchelder) Currier in Deerfield, NH. He married a Meribah Tilton whose mother was Sarah (True) Tilton. My John True above was born and lived in Epping, NH. I tend to find people using the mother's maiden name as part of the child'a name. My guess is that your John True Batchelder may have been related to these people in some way.
