Hello, I live in Cadiz, Ky which is considerably close to Rockcastle. I'm sure if you would like I could find some information on them. I've been trying to find my ancestry and this may help me as well. Just let me know! I'd be happy to help.

Thanks for your response. Here's what I
have:

Daniel Adams m. _____
ch: William, Sylvester, Nicie (m. Squire
Thompson), Nathaniel

William m. Elizabeth Thompson 5/26/1800 in
Pulaski Co., KY. According to family lore,
WIlliam lived on 200 acres 6 miles west of
Mt. Vernon, Rockcastle Co., KY. (My line
descends through Wm. Elizabeth).

Don't feel obligated to work too hard on this,
but anything you come across would be welcome.

Thank you and happy thanksgiving!

Ashley.. I, too, am looking for my family
and ancestors from Kentucky. I do not know
where Cadiz, Ky is, or Rockcastle...although
I have heard of them both. My Adams family,
as far as I know, are from Lincoln County.
Some of the names are Delbert Green Adams,
D.R. Adams (legal name: David Richard Adams)
Melvin G. Adams (my father) There are also
'Bastin's' and 'Youngs' mixed up in there
as well. I think there are 2 or more strands
of 'Adams'' from Ky. My mother-in-law was
also an Adams! Apparently, not the same
family as mine. bettylj@peoplepc.com
Thanks, Betty Johnson

Unfortunately my Adams information is very sketchy.

My ancestor William Adams (bef. 1776-abt. 1820) married Elizabeth Thompson 1800 in Rockcastle Co., KY. They had 13 children, but no Tempy that I know of. There's a Jennie who married a George Lenia, Betty who married a Hicks, as well as Nancy, Sarah and Phoebe whose spouses, if any, are unknown).

William's father was Daniel, and he (William) had at least two brothers who were named Nathaniel and Sylvester, but I have no names, dates or spouses for them. Are there any Sylvesters or Nathaniels in your line?

Some of myAdams relatives were also from Rockcastle, and that area. I am looking for the parents of Florence Adams, Ruth Anna Adams and Owen Tevis Adams. All were born around 1890. I do know that Owen T. Adams married Opal Stewart, and had several children. Any matches?

My Adams ancestors moved to Indiana by 1840, so the only information I have on my Adamses is from before then. Your Adams could be related, but I'm afraid I don't know.

I have information on the family of Peter Jerome Adams and Annie Adam of South Eastern Kentucky.
Jerome and Annie had the following sons. Vincent, James, Leslie. Vincent married Kitty Brown. They lived out there days in Middlesboro. Two other brothers lived in Ashland Kentucky. Worked for Oil Co in that area. When Jerome died Annie went to Ashland and lived with one of her sons. This is my husbands line would love to know more on this family. Do know that are shown in Adams Co Pa in very early 1800. Peter Jerome was born in Pa. Have good deal of information on this early line.
