Click on the graphics below and you can see Major William Russell's gravestone and also the sign at the cemetery where it is located. This cemetery is located on Highway 24 west of Russellville on an off-road going south. I can't remember the name or number of the off-road at this time. But maybe this will help someone.

Hi Corey - I am also descended from Major Russell and think that you have a slight mistake in your information that is on your website. Major William Russell (1762-1825) had a son, Captain William Russell (1789-1860)who had a son, William Henderson Russell (1819-1860). You list other siblings of William Henderson Russell as Edmund and Rufus Sargent Russell. Edmund was actually a brother of Captain William Russell and Edmund's son was Rufus Sargent Russell. I am descended from that line. It gets tricky because Captain William Russell also had a son named Rufus. The two cousins were both born in 1824 in Tennessee. I don't believe he had a son named Edmund. Basically, the two brothers (Captain William and Edmund) had sons born the same year with the same name.

I have a lot of information on these Russell's and would be interested in any sources you might have for your information. Are you familiar with the Indian massacre of Bean's mother and siblings? If not, I can direct you to that information. It is quite a story. Bean was away at the time and was the only family member to survive.

Hope this helps.
