Me too! I also traced back to the father of Capt. Nathaniel Basse, I also have listed all his brothers and sisters. Capt. Nathaniel Basse was a origional Jamestown ancestor. Capt. John Smith mentions him in a book he wrote back in the 1620's. He was acquainted with Capt. Nathaniel Basse

I had a hunch if I went into the Basse forum I'd run across a clue. My family is decended from the Humphrey Bass from England. I do have some information but it may not be the direction your family takes.
Either email me direct or through this message board. Paula

Do you know the title of the book by Capt. John Smith you mentioned in your e-mail dated 10/5/2000?

Thanks

I saw you posting about the Bass family and the mention of stories written by Capt. John Smith. I have been reading about this family of French Huguenot Humphrey La Bas (Basse) and his descendants to present day time. It refered to the passage by Capt. John Smith, but did not list the title. The article I have been reading dose give gredit ti Albert D. Bell and his "Bass Families of the South" written about 1962. Do you have a list of the children of John Bass who married Keziah Tucker? I would like to know who their children married.
