What year was john Owen Blackmore born. Did he have other family that traveled from Ohio to Virginia and then into Kentucky. The reason why im asking is because I've hit a huge brick wall with my 3rd great-grand father who was Owen W. Blackmore he was born in 1792. Please email me at

David Blackmore posted a message in 2000, I am sorry it took so long for me to answer. Got a new computer, new email, and I just got back to checking this web site. I heard that some of the Blackmore's related to my grandfather lived in Kentucky. But I am sorry I don't know any names. My mother talked about them visiting when she was little.

My great grandfather was a John Owen Blackmore, b. 1875 in Van Wert Ohio of Wm. Blackmore and Sarah Ann Hamlet. He was the twin of Sarah Olinda, and had 11 other sibs. The names are listed on FamilySearch. He married Elizabeth McCabe, @1898? They lived in Illinois and had Elizabeth, Esther, Donelda, Blanche, Ruth and John Owen. Ruth was my grandmother. She died in 1981. If you have any info on earlier Blackmores, Hamlets, or McCabes, I'd love to see it.

Sandra: I had not checked my messages on this site for a while. I so hope you still have the same email address. I could not believe it when I saw your email. I am Blanche's daughter. I was named after your grandmother. You are the only relative on that side of the family I have seen a note from.
A man named Ken Stormer from MI sent me information going back 11 generations. He was married to a Blackmore.
I don't have any information on the McCabe side. I wasn't even sure if my grandmas first name was Elizabeth or Sarah.
Anything I have I would be glad to send to you. Do you have pictures of the blackmores and McCabes? I do and would be glad to send you copies. Your grandmother was the most beautiful of the girls. Ruth Schneider
