My Paternal Grandfather Croce Randazzo's mother name was Anna Castiglia. She was born in Sciara, Sicily in 1850's. She married Giuseppe Randazzo and raised 7 children:
Matteo (1870-1946), Nicolo, Croce (1882-1948), Pietro (1886-1972),Rose, Giuseppina and Grace.Have been told she died sometime in the 1920's. Her parents names were Nicolo
and Giuseppina.I know that she must have had
a brother or brothers, because when my Grandfather Croce died in 1948,his cousin's
Larry Castiglia, Nicholas Castiglia and Sardi/Sandi? Castiglia attended the funeral.
This I know from Funeral Automobile List.
Croce and his 3 brothers all resided in Bronx, New York.

If anyone has any information about the Castiglia's of Sciara,Sicily, please contact me. Thanks!

How about Oneida County? Utica/Rome area?
I have:
Marco Selvaggio m. to Rosa Castiglia
According to Ellis Island she emigrated on April 29, 1909 aboard the SS Sannio, age 29, female, married, travelled with children Nicasio age 9 male, Antonino age 5 male, Calogero age 3 male, Giovanna age 2 female, and Marina Pansarella, age 18 female, single, all from Sciara, paid by father Castiglia, Giacomo, destination Rome, NY. Rosa went to "husband Selvaggio, Marco 211 John St. Rome, NY"
Marina Pansarella went to "cousin? Castiglia, Giacomo, 211 John St. Rome, NY"
Anything?
Thanks!
B.

YES, My Castiglia's settled in Oswego, NY. The parents were Antonino Castiglia and Giovanna (Cimo) Castiglia, children were sons Loreto Nicolo and Francesco daughters Ignacia and Marie.
I have headstone pictures of Father, Mother, and Francesco, they are buried in the Catholic Cemetary in Oswego.

My Grandmother is 99, she was born in Oswego in 1911, she will be 100 Jan. 13 2011. She, Genevieve Maria Castiglia Flaisman was born about a month after her father Francesco died her mother, Mary Bell Weber Reitz/Ritz married James Reitz/Ritz/Rizzo and moved to Cleveland, Ohio before 1920.

I would LOVE her to meet any cousins, time is critical PLEASE contact me ASAP.
Thankyou very much, Theresa Gilligan@triad.rr.com

correction: daughter was Maria not Marie
more info: My Castiglia's are from Sciara, Sicily, Italy
Ellis Island records show Giovanna coming thru Dec. 30,1901 with the 5 children and it shows them going to meet her husband Antonino Castiglia in Oswego, NY.
My Grandmother was baptized in St John's Church which in now closed but St. Mary's has the records from St. John's.
I saw and took pictures of her baptism record in the original book, Gram got to see it also TOO COOL!
I think Ellis Island records show Antonino coming thru 3/23/1894. It shows him as 41 years old and his headstone says he was born in 1852 so the numbers are pretty close.

Again any help would be Great, I'd love for Gram to meet the family she never knew. Please think and move fast, she's approaching a century old, wouldn't you like to meet her?
