Any information on Julian de la Grange of Fort Wayne, Indiana (late 1800s). His son was Constance de la Grange. There were 3 or 4 original brothers that came over from France.

My Grandfather told me the same story when I was a younger. He had told me that two brothers stayed in Ohio and two brothers went on to Indiana, some had even married into the Amish.

Victor, Constintine, Augustine (Justin) Victor, Constintine

The moved to Ft. Wayne, Indiana in 1843. Victor married
Barbara Swartz, an Amish girl. Constintine also was married
in Stark County. These two brothers came with their parents,
Joseph and Mary in 1843. They lived in Stark County 12 years. Justin, already married to Theresa, immigrated to
Ft. Wayne (Allen County), Ind in 1854. They Had on son,
Charles, less than 1 year old. Came via New York. There are
many Delagrange's in The Ft. Wayne area today. Charles
moved to Barberton in 1895, his family of 8 children. All of
the Summit County Delagranges are decendents of furtile

I am of the 5th generation of Victor Delagrange, who came over from France with two brothers, Constance and August, and a cousin with his parents, Joseph and Mary (Shottan) Delagrange in 1843. They were in Ohio for 8 years and then moved to Allen County, IN, Cedar Creek Township.; Constance birth date was 5/24/1831.l He married Ann Margaret Greavy in 1861 and had children. Constance was in Stark County,OH around 1861. I have a Dealgrange book that was compiled with the history of the brothers and has all the descendants of Victor and Barbara Schwartz. My dad was Joseph Delagrange, son of Henry and Katie Delagrange, who was son of Joseph and Leah (Oesch)Delagrange, who was the eldest son of Victor (7/10/1827) and Barbara (Schwartz) (10/22/1830). Victor was Catholic and married an Amish girl.
There was a (Justin) assumed to be August and wife, MAry llsted in 1880 census in St Joe Township, Allen County, IN. tThere is also Francis Delagrange and wife Octavi listed in tthe 1870 census for Jefferson township. Both men were listed as born in France. Francis is either the cousin or the 4th brother. If anyone would like a copy of the first few pages of the book, email me at joo5@frontier.com and I can copy and mail to you.
