Hi Wendy. My name is Jim. I'm too looking for the origin of our las name. My ggrandfather was from El Salvador too. but we immigrated to Panama city, Panama when I was 2 and lost touch with my family back home. I knew very little about my father but my mom say that grandpa mentioned something about his ancestors being from German or Turkish or something like that. I live now in Ontario, Canada and the funny thing is my wife's name is Wendy as well, so her name is Wendy Deras.... This is a small world after all huh? so if U or anyone has info feel free to contact me at Jimderas@hotmail.com maybe we can swap information. take care!!!

Hello,
I just wanted to reply to all of the replies regarding Wendys questions. My name is Hugo Deras. I was born in El Salvador and now live in California. My grandmas dad (on my moms side) was an original Deras from El Salvador. His dad, I was told as a kid, was a Deras who came to El Salvador from Spain and had blue eyes.

I also want to find out more information on the Deras last name. It is very interesting that all of us say that our families are from El Salvador.

Hope to hear from any Deras' out there!
Hugo

Hello Hugo, Wendy and Jimmy.
I know some information as far as my great grandfather. His name was Ancelmo Deras. My grandfather's name was Gorgonio
Deras And my father's name was Samuel and Jimmy, my nephew, they not from Germany or Turkey, u turkey.

I am interested too in finding out more about more about the Deras. My dad had 2 brothers, David and Manuel and sisters Tomasa Lemus, Isabel, Rubenia, and Rutilia. I did not get a chance to meet any of them. All my other tias were Deras except for Tomasa. She was born before my grandparents were married.
