William married Alice Hanfield in 1818 in Caythorpe, Lincolnshire, England. They had 8 children after their marriage, names and baptism dates, all in Caythorpe village, are as follows:- Mary 4.10.1818, Thomas 26.03.1820, Ann 3.05.1822, George 29.05.1825, Betsey 15.07.1827, Henry 24.04.1831 and Sarah 17.07.1836. I have no details as yet of a son William. Do you have any clues you could give me? Where did he die?

I have records back to 1640 for this branch of the Gash family tree, if they would be of help to you.

I was surprised by the similarities. My grandfather was James Gash, born in 1910 and my mother was Shirley Gash, born in 1935. That's where the similarities end.

Surnames: GASH, BEVINS, HOUSEL
I too am related to William Gash ( the son of William and Alice) born 1829 Caythorpe, England. He died 8 Nov 1895 Guthrie County Iowa and is buried in Richland Cemetery. William married Sarah L BEVINS HOUSEL. Several of the siblings came to America either with William or after him.
Sarah married a William Clement in Henry County IL. For more info e-mail me at joycef@inreach.com

My Dad was a William Gash born 17-9-1907. I don't think that he will be directly descending from your tree but there could be a connection back to David Gash born 3-9-1749 who married Ann Thorpe 27-1-1767 and they had the following children - Susannah 19-12-1767, John 9-7-1769, who married Susan ?, Ann 11-11-1770 and Sarah 30-9-1773.
We are unable to go back any further and are stuck on David Gash as we can't find his parents who we think are David and Alice.
We are still trying to trace any relations regarding the above to fill in our tree.
This may or may not be of any help but Good Luck anyway.
Cheers Jan

I am interested in your William Gash, as I am trying to trace the Gash's in the Lincolnshire area. My father was William Ernest Gash and have always wondered where the William came from. I have lots of info on David Gash's decendants. David married Anne Thorpe in Leasingham 27 Jan 1767.
If this is of any help, please e-mail me.
Cheers Jan
