Gwen
According to family notes my Samuel MARTIN b:1850 was married 2nd to "Nancy" GRUNDON. The 1850 Dauphin Co.,PA census shows Samuel and young wife "Anna" (?) in dwelling 74. Also in this household are the youngest of the children known to be of Samuel's first marriage. Could this possibly be a part of your GRUNDON line??

Sorry.....Samuel's date of birth is 1805 NOT 1850 (can I blame it on my keyboard?? )

It is possible that this could be descendants of my Thomas Grudnon Sr. There were two children over the age of 15 when Thomas died in 1828. However if this Nancy/Anna is one of them she would have been 35 years old in 1850. I am confused....you have Samuel born 1850 then listed in 1850 census. Which is in error?

Wish I could be paid for every transposed number I am guilty of.

Thanks Janet. How did you determine that Anna's maiden name was Grundon?

The information is from the family Bible of Samuel MARTIN......sstates "and married 2nd time to Nancy Grundon. She was born in the year of Our Lord 1814 March 31st - now 84 years"

All dates from the following are from Bible records, except the dates of death of the children. Those are from myself and cousins, we being the descendents of William W., Charles W. and Samuel A. Martin.
Baptismal records from Lebanon Co.,PA show Samuel is the son of Henry and Caty MARTIN.

Why she is listed as "Anna" in the 1850 census?? Your guess is as good as mine.

Bless you Janet. This gives me great hope. This Nancy/Anna could be one of the un-named daughters of my Thomas and Maria. I will send you a two generation history of Grundon family with some notes to explain why I feel this is possible.

This may well be a big plus for both of us.
I have a "little" information about Philip MARTIN of this second marriage and I'm still searching.
DO you have my e-mail? jsend@hpcisp.com
Look forward to hearing from you and sharing what we can.
