I am a 3rd gen., once removed descendant of Emanuel Gottlieb HAAB. He was born 08 Apr. 1860 in Alsace-Lorraine, Germany. I have his siblings, and, his father was Emanuel Gottlieb HAAB, born 1825 in Germany. Emanuel, b. 1860, was employed by The Bering Saw Mill, Moscow, Polk Co., TX., U.S.A. as paymaster, being that "he spoke 9 different languages, fluently", where he died 14 June 1896 and is buried in The Moscow Cemetery, Polk Co., TX. Emanuel left surving spouse, Arabelle 'Belle' SWEARINGEN, born 16 June 1861 in Beech Creek Community, (Spurger), Tyler Co., TX. where they were married, on 08 Apr. 1889. They had 3 children;;; (1) Alfred Gottlieb HAAB, born 23 May 1890, married Alma E. WADDELL, b. 03 Dec. 1893 in Village Mills, Hardin Co., TX. (2) Florence Belle HAAB, born 11 Sep. 1892, married William Henry FREEMAN, b. 29 Mar. 1889 in Fred, Tyler Co., TX. ( my grand-parents). (3) Pearl Gottlieb HAAB, born 04 Sep. 1895, married John Henry Newton BAKER, b. 09 Sep. 1895 in Fred, TX.( 1st cousin to Wl'm. H. FREEMAN). Florence and Pearl HAAB's weddings were double wedding on Duncan D. "Dunk" "D.D." SWEARINGEN's front porch, Beech Creek Community, (Spurger), Tyler Co., TX. Belle SWEARINGEN - HAAB married a 2nd time to James HANNA, 01 Aug. 1900 in Tyler Co., TX., no children of this marriage known. She died 10 Nov 1912 in Tyler Co., TX. and is buried with other SWEARINGEN sisters and parents in Beech Creek Cemetery, Spurger, Tyler Co., TX. I just read this letter from you and am amazed at some of the information. Emanuel Haab is my gggrandfather. Pearl Haab is my ggrandmother and Arbelle Baker Read is my grandmother. I would LOVE any information that you can send me about the Haabs. I can find nothing. Do you know when and where he came over?
I think that we spoke by email several years ago. If there is information that I can pass on about the little that I know from this part of the line, I would be glad to share with you.
Thank you very much for posting this information.

Belle Swearinger's husband when she died was my grandfather James Hanna. I have some info from my deceased aunt. Does Belle's family have any photos or folk lore about grandpa Hanna?
