My motherinlaw is a Hamous. They are from Red River, La. Her fathers name was Ideares D(Dee) Hamous married to Elma Mae Thomas. I have his parents as Frank Hamous and Mary Kathryn Wood. This Frank was born May 1881 and died Nov. 1946 He was married Mar. 1901
Mary was born April 1880 and died May 1963.
I don't guess these are the same Franks, but they did both marry Woods.

Hi Lynn,
My mothers name is Alexia Lea Long (Bryant)Frank Hamous is her grandfather b.May 9, 1881 d. Nov 7, 1946 m. Mary Jane Wood, Mar 28, 1901 she was born Apr 19, 1880 d. May 10, 1963. Children of Frank are Clemon A., Vela Mae (my mothers mom ) infant, Elvis Lee, Ernest, Idreas(Dee), Mary Katheryne, Clara Vee. What is your mother-in-laws name. When I was growing up we never met any of my moms family until I started doing genealogy almost a year in a half now. I had the chance to go to Texas and met Cousin Curtis and Aunt Vera and Lannie in LA. One of the reasons why we never met anyone is because mom went into the army in 1957 then she met my dad thats a long story there. I enjoy meeting everyone in the family. Can you tell me about them.

Thank you
Willette
P.S. please Email me anytime about anything.

My mother-in-law is Sarah Hamous Hoffpauir. She is married to Floyd Hoffpauir, I am married to her oldest son, James. She was wondering which one of Vela Mae's daughters was your Mother. She was saying they used to have a family reunion, but I don't guess they have one anymore. Once they left Louisana they didn't go back much to visit. She has a set of twin brothers, Floyd and Lloyd. Talk more later. Lynn

Hi Linda...my husband's grandmother was Fannie Bell Hamous.
Her mother and father were Will (Willie) Hamous and Maime DeFee. One of their children was Alton Hamous.
So far, I've not been able to go any further back than Will and Maime...anyone have any suggestions?

My great great grandmother is Marry Hamous. She married William Penn Adams and had a son Jeff Adams who then had a daughter Ozie Adams who is my grandmother. I found out where Marry and William were buried and took pictures of their tombstones along with other Hamous' that were nearby. If you would like to see them search for the names at www.findagrave.com. The pictures I took were those of, Clemon A and Florence W. Hamous, Ernest Hamous, Marie Hamous Roberts, William Thomas and Maime Deffee Hamous, Frank and Mary Woods Hamous and their infant daughter, Andrew Hamous, Elvis Lee and Mary Wren Hamous. They are at Bethany Cumberland Cemetery in Red River Parish, Louisiana.
