Hi,

I would be very interested speaking with anyone with relatives came from Kries Lipno in general or the villages of Lentzen (Wlecz - polish) or Wolschebuden (Makowisko) in particular. I am primarily focussed on the Jabs and Boehm (Bohm) families coming from these area's.

Are there any John (Jan) Jabs in your history? I only know he was born in Poland and came to this country in 1886 with his wife and 5 children and settled in Madison, South Dakota. Homesteaded in Montana and died in Anaheim, California in 1929.

No, not in my direct lineage around that time frame. Do you happen to know where in Poland that your John came from?

Hi Nicole,

I have a couple of Ferdinand Boehm coming from Makowisko. The first would be my g-g-grandfather Ferdinand Boehm born approximately 1824 (son of Georg Boehm) who married Eufrosine Wollschlager (Ott when married) who was born in approximately 1818. I am aware of four children: Christian (born January 9, 1860 -- who is my g-grandfather), Ferdinand, David, and one sister ( I am not sure of her name) who emmigrated to Russia. I believe that the son Ferdinand had at least two sons: Edward (who married Wanda Brodnezky) and Friedrich (who married a Hammermeister).

I would be interested to find out if you come from any of these family lines.

Take care,

Aaron

Hi Nicole,

That's great I do not have any information on Ferdinand (Christian's brother) side of the family -- and your english is fine. Mein deutsch ist nicht gut! Do you know which JABS that Auguste married? I have two lines of JABS in my family -- one on my fathers side coming from the village of Lenzten /Wlecz (where he was born) and one coming from my Oma's side coming from the village of Wolsche Buden/Makowisko where she was born. I know that the two lines are connected somewhere but I have not found it yet. I think it would of been in the later 1700's possibly around the Torun area but I am not sure. If you would like to email me on my personal email it is a.jabs@telus.net.

I am not related but found the following information online:

http://www.volksbund.de/graebersuche/content_ergebnis_detail...

It is a German page stating that a soldier called Eduard Jabs, born 1907 in Lentzen, died 1945 in Austria in a Hospital. He was buried at the cemetary Freistadt-Jaunitzbachtal (Austria).
