Your grandfather sounds like he might be a Bill Janus I have a picture of in my family album. I think this Bill Janus was killed in an accident whild in the Coast Guard. This is my late husbands family. I know my husban talked to some Janus cousins in Kansas City Kansas or Kansas City Mo. My husbands grandmother was Caroline Beatrice Janus and she had abrothe Carl that came to America. They were in the New York or New Jersey area. Contact me off this list if you think this is your family. E-mail

Hi there,

Let me give you an inside scope. I don't kow who william is, new mystery maybe but you are naming everyone I have been researching! I cannot find any of the Janus either!! CONTACT ME IF THIS LOOKS RIGHT!! :)

I am the grandaughter of Ronald Janus, (my heart and soul!) son of John 8/25/1909 and Anna Janus 8/15/1912(Nikolic). His parents John and Anna Janus (SR we will call them)immigrated to the USA in 1901 during the time of the fall of the Austrian Empire, naturalized 1915, John Janus b. 1883, Czechoslovakia. He moved to Port Vue, PA where Anna and the first 5 children were already awaiting him on March 15, 1901 by the vessel Barbarossa into New Yorks' port.

Research shows John and Anna (SR) had these children:Andrew 9/11/1907 John (jr) 8/25/1909, Anna 10/26/1911, Margaret 9/11/1913, Joseph 1/20/1916, Helen, Mary, Edward. My Great Uncle Paul Janus, Ronald's only sibling recalls Edward being a brother to John as a young child. We DO NOT know where all these Janus went to or who they are but would like to know!!! Please contact anytime! my subscription here is limited, my tree is public as so long as ancestry allows it to be viewed. Find me on facebook aka Sabrina Fletcher

I have posted a message board with the name in caps JANUS with lots of info/photos thru my research the past months, contact me!

Emily was my mother. There were actually seven siblings, Joseph, Celia, William, Helen, Emily, Marie and Dolores.
Marie and Dolores died when they were babies. Helen was the last to die in 2001. All I know about your grandfather is that he died in WW2, had a son, Billy, a wife, Lorlene (spelling?) nd they lived in Cherryville, MO.

I reallize this is 12 yrs after you posted this inquiry, but feel free to contact me with questions if you're still a member and I'll try to answer them.
