Don't have any info on a Jarema from Michigan. My father was from Winnipeg, moved to Akron, Ohio. I now live in the LA area.

As one of Andy's relatives in NJ, I can say that I don't see an immediate connection, however, you may want to check John's birth records (available probably from the county vital statistics office. It may give you the location of his parents birth and their age, and take you that generation farther back. Good luck !

I have some info on Joseph Jarema of Zilwaukee. My father is Carl Jarema son of Walter Jarema who was Josephs brother. Joseph and Walter had another brother, Adolf who stayed in Austria. They had a sister named Julie. Everyone called her Tootsie. Joseph had 7 children. John Don, Ed{Ad),Carl, Nancy, Eleanor, and Minnie. My mom has my grandparents bible and if you need more info let me know. John Jarema passed away just a few weeks ago. He also had 7 children.

My grandfather was Nikolai Mark Yarema (Jarema) born 2 Jan 1886 in Olkovitz, Poland/Ukraine, he came to Port Huron, Michigan (thru Canada) in 1913. His parents were Andrew Yarema (Jarema) and Mary Freih (?). He came over with a younger half brother Fredrick. My mother tells me that he had two other brothers that came over who were musicians, but she does not know their names. I would love to find their decendents (my cousins).

Please let me know if any of this seems to fit with your family. By the way, I grew up in Carrollton, MI (next door to Zilwaukee).
