I figured I'd put a post in here just to let everyone know there are more Kibbey's out there.

My Father, CMGST Donald R. Kibbey is one of 10 children from the marriage of John Wesley Kibbey and Bertha Viars in Southern WVA. I have a tree that goes back to an Edward Kibbe born near Exeter England in 1586. I would be happy to share, I certainly can't take credit for creating it though. I pulled it from the World Family Tree.

Anyone else out there in this tree somewhere?

My grandmother was Adeline Kibbey, in the world tree on the net she is listed as Addie Kibbey who married Tom Riley. It's actually Thomas A. Reilly who has a rich and full tree himself!!! Addie was the granddaughter of Charles Warren Kibbey of the line of Phillip Warner Kibbey and Sarah Meigs...so hello to all my cousins!

I have a Martha M. (Matilda I think) who married a John B or E A Griswould. Census shows her parents were born in England. She and spouse were in Wellsville NY for 1910 and 1920 census. I have no further information. For that area I see Kibe, Kibbe, Kibbey, Kibby, and Kibbie.

Hi Gerri,

I believe your Kibbey ancestor who went to Kentucky was Moses Kibbey, Jr. who was my 4th great grandmother Christable's brother. I was hoping you would be able to enlighten me as to your sources of information for Moses and his parentage. The information I've been finding on the net suggests that the family was originally from Enfield and Somers, Ct., and that they moved up into Monson, Mass. where Moses, Sr. died in 1784. I am trying to verify this information as well as the parentage of Moses, Sr. Are you able to help me out? I'd certainly be delighted to send you the information I have on my own branch of the family as well. I look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Karen Smithson, Vancouver, B.C.

I have my line back to Exeter, England. In the church cemetary in Wakefield Massachusettes some of the graves have the names inscribed as Kibbee and some Kibbe. Do you know what part of England?
