Received your response to my inquiry as to relatives to John Norman Mikalson, whose father was John Martin Mikalson, all having moved to Montana from Wisconsin area and Norway. I'm afraid we are not related, however, thisis the first time I've seen the same spelling as my family. If I could have your Email perhaps we could get further. My father had a twin brother, George, who disappeared in teh 20's I believe. My Email is We also have names Donna and Carl in our family. Thanks for your interest

My grandfather was Aaron Mikalson, brother to John Norman Mikalson. My father was Norman Lillard Mikalson. He of course knew his uncle John, since my dad was born in Eureka in 1911. He died Oct.10,1997. I have most of his photos somewhere in all my share of stuff.I remember he had a snapshot of John Norman. I also have a family group studio photo of the family of John Martin Mikalson & his wife Sophia Marie Amundson. It however was taken after Sophia and a couple of the children had died. But the photographer inserted earlier photos of Sophia and her deceased children. It makes it look like they were all there, except Sophia is a little larger than the others.

Jofreda, I have been gone on vacation and I just read your post. My father was John Norman, whose twin George disappeared as a young man. My brother Donald Wayne was married to Donisa, and he was the one killed in a woods accident in 1955. I called you a while back after I had read your research on the family. I have been gathering info on the present generation and will be able to get this to you if you are adding to the family research. I made copies and sent to Darrin DeReu. son of Sally Mikalson DeReu. I am planning a family reunion of the John and Lottie Mikalson bunch the last week in July if you would like to come. If you have an Email address I would give more details.

Carl Mikalson was my grandfather's name and my father's name was Harry. Carl's father was Andrew from Norway who settled in Rio,WI and later went to ND to homestead. Andrew was born about 1834. As my uncle's name was John Martin, there is probable a family connection in Norway. I am doing further research.
