Johann Heinrich Muskopf and Charlotte Margaretha Ulrich are my ggg grandparents. They left Le Harve, France aboard the Ship Rubicon, entered New Orleans, traveled up river to St. Louis, Missouri and crossed over the river and settled in Millstadt, St. Clair Co., Illinois USA. 10 Children: Daniel, Peter, Charlotte Philippina, Margretha, Jacob, Heinrich, Johannes, Philip, Frederick and George Muskopf.

Their tenth child, George Muskopf is my gg grandfather, he married Maria Hollerbach. 11 Children: Charlotte Elisabeth, Daniel George, Dorothea, Philip Ludwig, Peter George, Katharina, Emilia Elisabetha, Elmer George, Jacob Oswald, and Herman Walter.

Their first born, Charlotte Elisabeth Muskopf, is my great grandmother. She married George Herman Schmidt. 3 Children: Harvey George, Cora Frida, and Emilia Catherine.
She then married Jacob L. Mueller. Four years later she married George Hunnel Muskopf (son of Heinrich Muskopf).

Emilia Catherine Schmidt is my grandmother, she married Henry Clarence Thole. We know her as Mildred Katherine (as a child she was called "Millie", she assumed her name was Mildred, until she applied for Social Security and learned her real name was Emilia).

Hope to hear from all Muskopf's!!!

Hello, my grandfather is Howard Muskopf. His ggg grandfather was Johan Heinrich. His line comes down through Jacob Peter, one of Johans ten children. It sounds as though you have a lot of good information. I would love to learn about what you know regarding Johan Heinrich. The only thing I have is a very old obituary photo of Jacob Peter and a family tree tracking back to Bayern Lahndstuhl Germany where I understand Johan Heinrich to be from. Please get back in touch.

Thanks for your reply. You hit the nail on the head. I apologize if I sounded misinformed. I have not been doing this very long.

I have a lot of useful info, however, I dont know much beyond Johann Heinrich, how they got here etc.

Ihna is my nannie in answer to your question.

I would be very interested in any info you might want to share about the other members of my extended family as well as our common ancestors.

Thanks again,

I have 15 binders (and growing) on the Muskopf family. I am interested in all Muskopf's not just my line. It would be easier for me if you would give me specific questions. I don't want to repeat myself with dates and facts you might already have. I will be glad to help you in anyway I can.

You said you have a picture of Jacob Peter or Peter? The only picture anyone has ever seen of Peter is in his casket.

Could you please fill me in on Howard...I have nothing on him, I would appreciate whatever you can share.

I dont really know where to start inquiring.

The casket photo is the one I have seen.

Howard is my grandfather. He and my nannie have 4 children, 1 son, 3 daughters.
son - Howard Muskopf
daughters - Darlene soffar, Deborah Cline (my mother), and Alice Frazier.

My g is a retired pastor of over 30 years. He still chooses to lead services at one of our local retirement homes.

So, where in Germany are our people from, and do you have any names of our family beyond Johann?

What was the name of the ship they came over on, do you have a copy of the ships manifest?

Where did they come into the country? My brother Joseph, traced a name off the wall at Ellis island. It was "Jacob Muskopf", any relation?

Maybe this will get us started. Feel free to call my home if you like. 817-656-5870.

Thanks again for your information.
Any other info you want on my g I will be happy to provide.

I have been trying to research the Atley Surname, I decided to go at it from a different angle. Well my name is Lisa Atley , the daughter of Gail M. Atley (1950 - 1989), daughter of Gilbert Atley (1929 - 1963), son of Paul Atley (1907 - 1974), son of Christina (Muskopf) Atley from Millstaadt, Illinois. Now I need to know if anyone can tell me how we are all related. Thank

Christine Katharine Muskopf was b 22 Nov 1884, d 15 Jul 1967. She married 25 Jan 1904 in St. Louis MO (marriage license # 112051) to Peter Atley. I do not have proven dates on his birth or death. It is believed he was born abt 1883 and died 1914/1920. They had 7 children; Roy, Paul, Gilbert, Irene, Florence, Bernice and Loretta Atley.

Roy was born 22 Mar 1905, d Jul 1978
Paul was born 8 Jan 1907, d Jan 1974
Gilbert was born 5 Jun 1908, d Sep 1954
No info on Irene, Florence, Bernice or Loretta.

Christine Katharine Muskopfs second husband was John Bullerdieck, I do not have dates on him or their marriage. They had two children: Lillian & William Bullerdieck. No dates on Lillian but William was born 22 Nov 1922, d 24 Apr 1984 in St. Louis MO, he is buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

So from the info you posted, Paul named his son after his brother Gilbert, is this correct?

Here is your line:
Lisa Atley
mother: Gail M. Atley
grandfather: Gilbert Atley
great grandfather: Paul Atley
gg grandparents: Christina Katharine Muskopf & Peter Atley
ggg grandparents: Wilhelm Muskopf & Louisa Katherine Caroline Feurhan
gggg grandparents: Peter Muskopf & Anna Marie Weber
ggggg grandparents: Johann Heinrich Muskopf & Charlotte Margaretha Ulrich
gggggg grandparents: Johann Nikolaus Muskopf & Margaretha Hehlmuther

I would like to know more about the Atley Family. Hope to hear from you soon.

Your new cousin,

Surnames: Moskopf
I have been researching my Mother's family surname Moskopf.
I have had no luck on her father's side of the family.
My mother was born Martha Lina Moskopf Nov 8, 1898 in Strelitz Hauland, Pozen, Germany. I wonder if your family tree had any spellings of that name or if they came from Posen. Her father's name was Johan Freidrich Wilhelm Moskopf. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much
