Dr. John H.G. SHOE married Elizabeth ( Betsey ) SPEAR EDGERTON, widow of Samuel Edgerton, between 1835-1840. Place of their marriage is unknown , but may have been in Indiana. They had one child, Mary Antoinette SHOE, who was born on December 28, 1840 in Elkhart, IN.
Elizabeth died on February 25, 1843 Mary was given to a family as a " Bound girl ". Dr. SHOE moved to Illinois where he was listed on the 1850 Census in St. Clair County. On the 1860 Census, he was listed in Bond County, IL. On July 9, 1860 he married again to Nancy Elizabeth ROGERS. Any information on the birth death of Dr. SHOE his parents , plus anything on his wife Nancy ROGERS is most appreciated. I will share what I have found on the SPEAR line that of the daughter , Mary SHOE.

I have a g-g-grandmother Susan Shoe b. 1814 in Ohio, m. Joseph N. Hall 1833 in Ohio. They had 5 children born in OH, at least one in Montgomery Co. Abt 1847-49 they moved to Wabash Co. Indiana. There they had 4 more children. Susan Shoe Hall died in Kansas in 1868. I do not know exactly who her parents are.
Possible connections:
John Prudence Show both born in MD abt 1785 (on Montgomery 1830 census)both may have died in Montgomery Co. OH had a dau. Mary b. 1824, d 1893 in Montgomery Co, OH.

In 1830 Ohio census index are the following SHOEs: Abraham, David, Jacob, Jacob Sr., John, Philip, Phlip. David, Jacob, and the first Philip have a female child in the age range Susan would have been. The following SHOEs are on the 1820 census: David, Jacob, Lewis, and Philip.
I have not checked wills, cemetary, etc. yet.

I have learned my Dr. John H.G. SHOE was born in Baltimore County , Maryland around 1810. So far I haven't found his parents or any siblings. Perhaps our SHOEs do link up, from what you have found out about your line.
John was on the 1840 census in Kosciusko Co., IN. Then he moved to Illinois , where I found him on the 1850 1860 censuses. He served in the Civil War was released from duty at the end of July, 1865. From there I have lost track of him. I will keep your information , so I can get back to you if I found any links.

(Shoe) Siefkas, Clarence H. Shoe and Lyle L. Shoe. All 3 children were born in Illinois. They were all living in Wallace township, Franklin county, Arkansas in 1910. They moved to Arkansas sometime between 1903 - 1910.

Classification: Query
Surnames: SHOE, SHEWEY, BOON, BOHN, HALL
Just came across this message. I am researching the BOHN / BOON family.
In BOON family records there is a Philip SHEWEY that married first Susana BOON and then after her death abt 1815 married her sister Barbara BOON.
Philip and Susana had a child Susanna b.1814, who married ____ HALL.
I have discovered that Philip SHEWEY and Philip SHOE are the same.

SO -- your Susan SHOE is the daughter of Philip SHOE and his first wife Susana BOON.

I have lots of information on this BOON family. They came from Frederick Co, MD.
