Would you have knowledge of a Harry Van Dusen who was born in the 1880 -- 1886 time frame? He was an heir to Zina Cornell of Cambridge, NY. I have reason to believe that he was the son of Augusta Willett, a grandchild of Zina's.

I have copies of the Van Dusen burial cards at Lakeview (from the LDS film), just for that surname. That is how I stumbled on this possible explanation for the Van Dusen name being connected to the Willett family. I will write for the other information. Thank you for your answer!

Surnames: Van Dusen, Davis
I think this is the family in a document I have a photocopy of: my ggg grandfather Eli Cornwell Davis (I think half brother of Ann Elizabeth Davis) is named special guardian to Ann ___ Van Dusen, Jennette Van Dusen, Judd (probably Judson) Van Dusen, and June Van Dusen, infants of the second part

This is a mortgage document dated March 7, 1863 between Andrew Loucks and above for property in Jamestown owned by Harry Van Dusen at his death.

Since according to cemetery records Ann Elizabeth (Davis) Van Dusen is still alive at this point, probably the Ann in document refers to her, and not a sibling.

Ann Elizabeth (Nancy) Van Dusen is listed as heir of Jonathan Davis of Busti (d. 1866). Jonathan is descendant of William Davis of Seventh Day Baptist fame.

Presumably family continued to live on farm in Ellicott.
If this is same family, what happened to Jennette and June?

Relative to Jennie and Jennette, my meager information comes from the following:

"History of the Descendants of Peter Spicer" by Susan Spicer Meech & Susan Billings Meech

Jennie married Chauncey Erastus Woodworth and lived in Woodworth, Montana. Jennette is said to have married a William Benjamin Walters.

I have not tried to confirm this, as they are not in the line I was following at the time.

I do know that their mother continued to live in Ellicott and is buried in the Lakeview Cemetery in Jamestown, as are Hugh, Ada, Judson and Charles.

Harry Van Dusen's grandson, another Harry, was the man I was trying to discover, as he was one of two sons of Augusta Willett & Judson Van Dusen.

I would be happy to answer any other questions, although I don't have too much more to tell you.

Sincerely,
Margaret Ernest
