finding Elfers relatives

Hi!
My maiden name was Frances Fay Elfers. I was born in Charles City, Iowa, on May 22, 1948.

My father was Carl Roy Elfers, born in Floyd County, Iowa, on September 9, 1924. My grandfather was Morris George Elfers. He married Clara Seaton, and they had three children, Wayne, Ruby, and Carl Elfers. I could get those dates from my aunt, but I do not have them readily accessible.

I have a brother, Lynn Dee Elfers, born April 10, 1952, in Charles City, Iowa, who farms the family farm. He and his wife Jane have three daughters.

There are no other Elfers in our area. Last week when I was in Cincinnati, Ohio, I saw 46 listings for Elfers in the tri-state phone book and was VERY surprised.

Since the Elfers line will not be extending with us, I'm curious to know how many are in the country and where we originally came from.
Thanks for any assistance you might be able to give our family.

Hi, There are many more Elfers relatives than you may know. My family is stretched from Wisconsin to Florida. Our immigrated Elfers Clan was Charles Garrett Elfers, born 1820 in Germany. He settled in the southeastern area of Wisconsin and married Cherril Young first then, he married Christina Kasken and had 4 children, Lena, William, Christina, and George.
Hope this helps.

hello, my name is Elizabeth Ann Elfers. I was just messing around on the computer and saw my last name!!! My grandfather came to USA on a ship when he was sixteen, from Germany. His name was Henry Elfers. Grandpa was born in 1902. We actually have a picture of everyone who came to america that day on the ship with him. It was pretty exciting when my father showed me. I don't know of any other ELFERS. In my family, which is very small, there is my grandmother, dad, mom, me and brother. Other than that, I never knew there was another ELFERS in the world!

I am doing a family history paper. My great great great grandfather named Henry Jurdin Elfers came to san fransisco in 1862 at the age of 15 and settled in what is present day White Bird Idaho. The Elfers name is no longer in my family as his granddaughter was my great grandmother but there are Elfers descendents in Idaho

My father, Manfred Elfers came from Verden, Germany around 1954 and settled in London, Ontario Canada. I am surprised how many Elfers there are out there!

There is a clan of Elfers in eastern Calif. only they spell their name Elphers. Their original name was german and whoever recorded the immigration recorded their name in german, which I can't read. Spelling of names are a challenge, as my other family tree has three different spellings of that last name
