Wilhoite

Posted: 29 Jun 2001 6:51PM GMT
Surnames: Willhoite, VanZandt, Messimer, Feller, Webb, Niece, Ellison, Little, Petty
There were several brothers who arrived in the U.S. Solomon, Rueben, Conrad, Michael & John all served in the Revolutionary Army.. There is much info on these families at Genealogy.com. I am descended from Solomon, through John, then through Susannah, who married Jacob Messimer. I am seeking information that will definitely tie John & Susannah together. I Have the marriage bans for John & Mary Polly VanSDandt that show Solomon as one who vouched for them. Would like to correspond with any Wilhoite descendants.

I am also a Willhoite - my dad was Gerald Eugene, his father was Horry Clay, he married Sarah Cecil Johnson. Horry Clays parents were Win(d)sor Craig and Sarah Alice Spradling. Nothing more on the Spradling side. Then I get confused as to whether Win(d)sor Craig's fathers name is Windsor Collin or Tobias Willhoite. Any help you could give me would helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks Sandy

First, all of the above mentioned were Born in the USA, johnann Michael willheit came to Va from Germany about 1714.
Conrad, b 1737, VA was not in the Rev War, but a DAR patriot for service by means of supplies and money.

I'll check on the Susannah connection in my files for you.
