The Tri-City Herald of Pasco, Washington, carried the
article "VFW Takes in 17 Members" on October 11, 1956:
"Bernard Schmidtman Post 1651 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Pasco accepted 17 new members Tuesday night at the first meeting following the group's recent membership drive.
"Commande John Roberts said he feels certain the post will exceed its 1956 membership quota, considering the start it has made. VFW mambers desiiring to attend the Department Commander's Banquet in Tacoma Oct. 13 should contact Roberts at his office in the Lewis Hotel, for reservations. Next post meeting will be at 8 p.m. Oct. 23 in the post clubroom, Lewis Hotel, Pasco.
"New members accepted were: Robert H. Kessinger, Ben P.
Kdamski, William A. Simcox Jr., James R. Draves, Patrick E. Chambers, H. Wayne Aeschliman, Phillip G. Harrison, Anthony M. Klug, William P. Rasbury, John R. Hehmke, Louis S. Rodda, Roger L. Kaai, Laurence D. Osterman, William L. Robbins, John C. Lane, Jack C. Cantrell and James N. Barbouletos."http://search.ancestry.com/browse/view.aspx?dbid=8377&ii...
Can someone confirm or deny that this Roger L. Kaai was the same person as Roger Levi Kaai (1927-1985)? Is the Lewis Hotel still there? Is Post 1651 still active? Are any of these gentlemen still alive? I would like to talk to any of them who are still living.
