I am trying to track down a grave site for Mary Morton Durham, who died in Elsinore, UT in 1889. She was the first wife of my Great, great grandfather. Anyone know if there is a cemetery record for or sexton in Elsinore, UT?

UPDATE: I have spoken with someone at the Elsinore town office who says there is no record of Mary Morton Durham in the sexton's book. Any other ideas? I am quite sure she died in Elsinore. She also does not appear to have been buried in PArowan, with her husband. Thx - - empllaw.

Thanks so much for the reply. This is not the same Mary Morton, although she is a neice (sort of). The Mary I am looking for was born in or near Stalybridge England and died in Beaver, UT.

Thanks again.

Where are you located, I live in Vancouver Washington, but am going to UTAH for memorial day and will be in Sevier county. I would be willing to do a little leg work, we normally do not go to Elsinore, but it is only a few miles from Monroe and Richfield.

Mary and Thomas were in hiding in Elsinore, Utah under an assumed name. Thomas is my great great grandfather. He was hidden by the Sylvester family, who are my wife's family, in Elsinore. Caroline Mortensen Durham had the children in Parowan. Mary was so lonely for them she would borrow them periodically. My great grandmother Lena Isabella (Izzy) Durham McGregor had memories of going and staying with Mary and her father. They were in hiding four years before Mary died. She is buried in Elsinore it would be in the far west side as that was the section being used at the time. My wires family are all buried there. At that time all plots were family she is probably in the sylvester plot. Elsinore early records are poor.
