I have some names that cross check with yours.
Elizabeth Beveridge married Walter Forsyth in FAlkland
Fife Scotland in 1780's and had 11 children, names
Isabella and James appear. The Forsyths seemed to
name their children after relatives and surnames used,
such as Smith, Johnston, Storrar, Walker, Chisholm,
Glendinning and Irvine, also the FOrsyth clan lived
in Falkland in the same house since 1602 to 1965. I do
have Forsyth family tree but little of Beveridge.
any help. Liz Forsyth Lovell

Your request really has a lot of family names similar to mine
James Fyfe married Christina McLeod in Dornoch, Scotland 1848
They had a son also called James Fyfe (registered birth in 1858 says Fife)
He married a Jessie Fyfe (maiden name not known). He had a shop in Nicol Street, Kirkcaldy
He died 1902 and I do not yet know what happened to Jessie
Jessie and James had a son called James who was my Grandfather and he married Mabel Saunders
They had three children Louise Carrington Fyfe (my mother)
James Richard Fyfe and Wallace Saunders Fyfe (he was killed in action WW2)
Do you think there might be any connections
I have original birth certificates of James (1858) and his brother John (1856) and a note written by the minister at Dornoch with reference to the 1848 wedding
I now live in the South of England and sadly I plan no further visits to Scotland to search out more roots
Would welcome any comments - Brandon

I have come across new and corrected information since I originally posted my message. I have ordered a copy of James Fyfe and Christina McLeod's marriage extract, because they were my gggrandparents. I have their son James' birthdate as 25 Sept. 1852 from the Bethefield UP Church, Kirkcaldy baptisms 1852-1854, but this could be another James or this one might have died at a young age. I am related through his sister Jessie (1850-1905). She married David Beveridge in Kirkcaldy in 1880. Let me know if you want more information so we might definitely connect them. I have family in Scotland and England but can't get them interested enough in genealogy to find any information for me. Write me at my email if you would prefer.

Hi Glen,
I am searching for relatives of James SMITH b. 1816 in Fife, Scotland. I have hit a brick wall and thought maybe your Isabella may be a sister? James married an Elspeth CLARK and had 5 children. His son James b. 1845 emigrated to New Zealand and died there in 1927.
Any help would be appreciated!
Kind Regards

Hi Liz,
I am searching for connections to a James SMITH from Fife, Scotland b 1816 and married to Elspeth CLARK in 1838. Their son James b 1845 emigrated to New Zealand and died there in 1927. Hi family - to whom I am related - still live there.

I have hit a bit of a brick wall as I cannot trace further back than James and Elspeth. I have also sent a reply to Glen Beveridge, but though you might have some additional information about the SMITHs from Fife. Any information would be much appreciated.
Kind Regards
Fiona Smith
