I came across this article in the archives of the Shamokin News Item, I have had a hard time locating veterans that were killed during the war years. This list is amazing. Enjoy!!!

SHAMOKIN — With Memorial Day in mind, Larry Warren of Shamokin provided this list of names of veterans of Shamokin and Coal Township who lost their lives serving their country. Memorial Day was celebrated Monday, while the traditional holiday date is May 30.

Vincent F. Dorovich, Aug. 1, 1944 --- This is my cousin. He died on the beach ar Normandy, and is buried at the Americam Memorial Cemetery in Normandy. He is one of the many white crosses we see in photos.
