Need help please with a list of military hospitals that were active during the first world war in Ottawa, Ontario precisely. To clarify, my grandmother was told she was born in a military hospital in Ottawa and was given a series of numbers and letters which I conveniently don't have. However, my aunt remembers the first three letters were possibly 'RCF'. Interesting, right?! Anybody who can help...please do! Also, apparently a fire damaged the hospital and thus "destroyed" her birth record. The latter part I don't believe seeing as my grandmother may have had a different father than what she was told. Perhaps just a cover up?

Sorry, you might be right...the article spoke so much about Ottawa that I glossed right over Vancouver. ;o(

Awww thanks for helping though...at least my search is narrow...i'm looking for a hospital that is a miltary hospital and that burnt down lol.

I give up, can't find any mention of RCF, although RFC is/was Royal Flying Corp. There was one picture of the inside of a Hospital ward that was labeled RFC Canada Hosp Ward but it didn't give any indication of where it was located. But maybe its RFC that you're looking for. I hate an unsolved mystery!

if you are comfortable with it, maybe start from square 1. What is your grandmother's name, DOB, parents, place of birth (country or locale is good) and if she had any siblings close in age. Timelines are very helpful...

Rideau Military Hospital was active in the 40s, not sure if it was during WW1.

I think your query would get more answers if you posted to Canada > Ontario > Carleton.....there are more people there familiar with Ottawa.
