I've seen mention of an "Imatra Hall" in Brooklyn that was a major gathering place for social activities for Finns (as of early to mid 1900s, anyway). Anyone know if it still exists and how to contact someone there?

The latest I found on it was the NY Times article from January 14, 1996 stating the financial problems the hall was having with only about 100 Finnish families left in the neighborhood.

Hello Susan:

I used to hang out with a bunch of folks at Imatra back in the late sixties when I was in the service. Maybe you remember some of them? Bobby Nordstrom, Ray Halvorson, Richie Sutliff, Gus Weyer, Barbara Lyngholm, Ellen Jacobson, and Oddveig Berg - to name a few.

My name is Arnie Roholt and I used to live nearby. I'm living and working in Africa these days. I kind of wondered if they still exist as well.
