I have been trying to find my great grandfather on my Father's side. My Grandfather's SS application lists his Father as Franklin Claywell. In all the searching I have never found a Franklin Claywell. However I just recently found a Frank Claywell whose parents are Job Claywell and Elizabeth Nothcutt in Illinois. Does anyone know if Job and Elizabeth had any children? Job is one of Shadrach Claywell's grandson's. I would appreciate any information you may have.

Pam,

My info comes from another researcher, but here is what I have:
Job Claywell, b.23 Jul 1842 in Winchester, Scott Co., IL, and Elizabeth Northcutt, b. abt1841 in Winchester, Scott Co., IL, had the following children: Frank Claywell, b. abt 1863; Job Claywell, b. abt1871, and Eliza Claywell, b. abt 1872.
Job's (1842) parents were Joel Claywell and Lucinda Cain. Joel's parens were Shadrack and Emelia.

I show another Frank Claywell, born 1869 in Scott Co., IL, to parents Job Claywell (Parents: Job Claywell and Emily Cox) and Emily Hanback.
I haven't any other info. If one of these is your Frank, I would like to have more info for my database.

Patrick

Thanks for the info. I don't know if this is the right Frank Claywell. My Grandfather's father was Frank Claywell or Franklin Claywell. I don't know when, where he was born. The great Grandfather was married to Lavina (sp?) McWhorder. This is the only information that I have. I have been trying for 6+ years to find the connection. Up to this point I have never found a Frank Claywell. Now if I could find a Frank Claywell that married Lavina McWhorder. Thanks again.

I am Frank Claywell of Virginia. My full name is Ralph Franklin Claywell, Jr. My Father's family was from North Carolina and my Mother's family is from Virginia. I don't know if there is a connection but the Franklin Claywell history you are looking for caught my attention. Good luck with your search.
