My family group of GRAMS stopped briefly in Benton Harbor, Michigan where one of my uncles was born. I am looking for GRAMS relatives who may already have been there, as a reason for their stop in Michigan. My GGrandfather was Gottfried GRAMS, GGrandmother Julianne WEIDEMANN Grams. Gottfried filed a Declaration of Intention for citizenship in Berrien County Michigan on Nov. 5, 1900. His name is spelled Godfred Gramms on the declaration. I am wondering if he had a sister or brother in the area. He was born in 1846. Sibling names are Julianne, Andreas, Ludwig, Regine, August, Michael, Wilhelmine, Ernestine and Heinrich.

Elsie,
My family lives in an area of south east Michigan know as "downriver". My great-great grandfather's name was Ludwig Grams. I know almost nothing about him and I desperately wish I did. He married a woman named Ottilie Hines. Hines was her name from a previous marraige. They had a son named Fred Grams in Wyandotte, Mi in 1893. I think Ludwig came from Posen in the 1880's. Does this sound like it could be the Ludwig you have listed?
Thank you,
Ron Grams

I'm looking for a Fred A. Grams who married my husband's great-grand aunt, Hannah G. Klug. She was born in Baroda, Berrien, Michigan in 1903. They had three daughters, Adelina, Evelyne and Marion - and possibly more but census' don't go past 1930 for awhile yet. Could this be your Fred? Thanks, Cindi.

Are you related to the Grams Family? If so, we might be able to exchange information. Edward is the nephew of my great-grandmother's second husband.

The Gladwin Edward Grams isn't the same as the Monroe County Edward Grams. I don't know where in Prussia Edward was born. The same for his father Fred and mother, Wilhelmina nee Schultz. It was some where near Posen, Prussia. They came to the USA in July, 1872 on the Bark Orpheus. They then went to London Township in Monroe County, Mi.
