Allen Jeff was my grandfather. He was born in Tennessee July 20, 1861 and died May 10, 1933 in Bradley, Grady County, Oklahoma. In 1901 he married Hannah M. Schults-Dennis in Heavner, LeFlore County, Oklahoma. His father was William Kimbro born in Tennessee also. I was told that Allen had a brother who was also in the LeFlore County Area. This is where I am stuck. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Dear Linda,

I have not checked my message boards in a long time. I find that you are listing a Jeff Allen Kimbro Bn. in Tn. I am not at home at my computer or at my data, but from memory and my books I have compiled for a "life time" ....John Allen Kimbro was B. 1854 at Bedford Co., Tn. and near the town of Shelbyville, Tn. in Bedford Co....he had a brother Jefferson Hezekiah Kimbro B. ....I think from memory 1859 or 1861, they just called him Jeff. Jeff married 5 times I think it was, but to none of the wives you mentioned in your message. There was a brother Amos Elias Kimbro and I have his two wifes...sisters Rebecca who married a Holt, and I have the rest, but not all is coming to mind at present.

The Jeff I am referring to died in Eufaula, McIntosh Co., Oklahoma which use to be Indian Territory. Jeff had several children, but none by the last wife Aunt Ida Kimbro. He is buried at Eufaula, McIntosh Co., Ok. at the Greenwood Cemetery and so is his brother who is my Gr. Grandfather, John Allen Kimbro.

Please write me at pcata@joplin.com if any of this sounds familiar to you. Oh, by the way, they were the children of Rev. William W. Kimbro B. 1827 and died in 1877 in Waynesboro, Wayne Co., Tn. after the Civil War. He was a Baptist Minister......he was at the Battle of Shiloh. His wife, the mother of these children was Hanna Ray...William never married but one time.

All for now

I have most of the kimbro's listed in previous post all from the Hanna, Mellett, and Eufaula area in Oklahoma. Some are kin and some are not but i do have most of their headstone photo's and a few pictures of the moore side. I just found John Allen Kimbro's son Fred and his wife Gertrude while looking for someone else for my find a grave thing. He is a 1st cousin. Sallie and Tennessee Moore are aunts making John a double uncle lol. I can account for Most of the children who passed and have all their headstones located and photographed. Tim Reed
