I just came across your message and am not sure which cousin you are, but my grandmother was Corinne Mackrell Stout, married to John (Jack) Stout of Baytown. Their children have all kinds of info on the family and Papa Jim as we all called James Luke Mackrell. She spent many years before her health declined studying the family history, and they all went to visit Fernhurst to see Papa Jim's home and tinsmith shop, which is now a historical landmark there. I'm sure they would love to share some of it with you-- You might already have it all. As I read your info I think your dad was our Uncle James, married to Aunt Bess? I remember them all well. My dad is Jack (and Lynda), and I am sure you have the info!!!

My sister has the genology of the Mackrell family with pictures. She and her husband are sailing for the next six months; but I can put you in touch with her and give you some information that I have on the Mackrells. Our mother was a daughter of James Luke Mackrell. We visited the family home in Fernhurst and have pictures at my sisters home in Santa Fe, Texas. Mother's name was Corinne Mackrell Stout.

My grandmother was Carrie Elizabeth Brown Lewis, sister to Annie Brown Mackrell. My mother was Carrie's youngest daughter Jessie. She gave me some information on the Mackrell cousins, but not much. If you could bring me up to date on James & Annie's children & descendatns I would love it. I would be happy to give you information on our family if you are interested. Hope to hear from you. Glad to know there are still Mackrells around.
