Bethel married Eliza Hall in March 1842. They moved to Muhlenberg-Todd-Logan Co.Ky area in the 1840s or 1850. Their daughter, Sarah Allis (Alice?) m. Vascus Laredo Farmer in 1877. My records state the Bethel died on his birthday, Feb 5,in 1904. Any information about Bethel's or Eliza Hall's family would be appreciated.

The 1850 census of Smith Co.,Tn. lists Bethel J. Gregory and Eliza (they were both 25 years old) with children William age 7, Roxlana age 5, Emeline age 3, and Mary age 2.

The 1860 census of Smith Co.Tn. lists Bethel and Eliza (both born 1825) with children William born 1842, Roxlana, Emeline, Mary, John A., Thomas J. born 1855, Alice born 1856, Bethel born 1858, and George W. born 1859.

I have information that Bethel and Eliza and all children but William are found in the 1870 census of Logan Co,Kentucky.

The 1880 and 1900 census show Bethel and Eliza in Muhlenberg Co. Ky - - I don't know about the children except for William and Thomas who were back in Tennessee - - in Smith County or that portion of Trousdale County which had previously been part of Smith County.

Please contact me at vandmgregory@sierratel.com I think that we have a common ancestor.

Vern, A note from o8-26-1979 from my cousin. Bursie Sdtrater, He said that Milton was the name pf Bethel brother. The other information about about Bethel and Eliza's children came from their granddaughter's Bible. My grandfather also had much of the same information, but it probably came from his sister, Angie, whose Bible record we copied.
Jno (John?) Crid Farmer, was a cousin to Vascus Farmer.I had alway thouth that he fought for the Confederacy, but he may have been too young.
Which of Bethel's children was your ancestor?
Hope all of this helps you.

I'm new at this, have found a lot of family connections done by others. So:
Bethel Gregory was one of eight children of William (Little Bill) Gregory and Delilia Davis, AKA Delilah.
Little Bill Gregory was born in 1788 in Chatham County, N.C., and died in 1872 in Smith County, Tennessee.
(Re: Smith County Census 1850, Cal's Columns, 1951, Carthage Courier, 1926)
No details on Delilia, aka Delilah.
Bethel's siblings include:
James (Jimmy) Gregory
William Jesse (Jabe) Gregory
Milton Gregory
Susan Gregory
Mary Gregory
Edward (Ned) Gregory
Jane Gregory

Little Bill's father was John Gregory, born in 1725 in Halifax County, Virginia, and died in 1800 in Chatham County, North Carolina. His wife was Judah Morgan.
Their children, in addition to Little Bill, included:
John (Joe) Gregory
Major Gregory
Jerimiah Gregory 1766-Nov 1, 1856
Hubbard Gregory,

John Gregory's father was possibly James or Thomas Gregory, born about 1700 in England or Scotland. His other children included:
William Gregory, born 1736 in Chatham County, N.C, and died Sept 30, 1822, in Bucombe, N.C, and buried Smith County, TN. William's wife was Sarah (Sallie) Gregory, and they had a son, also William, born February 8, 1776.
Thomas Gregory Sr., another brother of John and William Gregory, was my ggggg-grandfather, and Bethel Gregory was my second cousin, five times removed.
