Hi Cari!

I have a book called Morton Allen Directory of European Passenger Steamship Arrivals. In it is lists the following ships and dates of arrival:

Date Steamer
January 4, 1914 Kursk
January 20, 1914 Russia
February 7, 1914 Czar
February 21, 1914 Birma
February 25, 1914 Dwinsk
March 8, 1914 Russia
March 16, 1914 Kursk
March 27, 1914 Czar
April 4, 1914 Dwinsk
April 19, 1914 Russia
April 27, 1914 Kursk
May 7, 1914 Czar
May 20, 1914 Dwinsk
May 29, 1914 Russia
June 8, 1914 Kursk
June 17, 1914 Czar
June 30, 1914 Dwinsk
July 9, 1914 Russia
July 20, 1914 Kursk
July 29, 1914 Czar
August 4,1914 Dwinsk
December 8, 1914 Dwinsk

Records can be obtained from steamship lines. When yuo send your request you'll need to include as much of the following as possible:

1. Name as spelled at the time of arrival
2. Approximate date of arrival
3. Port of departure in Europe
4. Name of steamship line
5. Country of birth
6. Age at time of arrival
7. Class of accommodation traveled by
8. Names of any persons traveling with same sailing
9. Port of arrival in the United States.

I'm sorry to say, I don't know where to send the requests. There have been several index published over the years. One good source for these books is the Genealogical Publishing Company. They are on the net.

Hope this helps!

hello. i noticed your msg about ships leaving european ports and wondered if it included info on ships from copenhagen, denmark 1900-1920's or so. i'm trying to locate info about my grandpa otto jensen but i don't have much to go on. he came over-i think-thru ellis island twice. once with 1st wife, marie anderson, and then he returned to dk after he was widowed to find a 2nd wife, edith bachmann. then they came back probably through ellis island. my mom was born in 1924 by second wife and there was a sister born a couple of years earlier also from 2nd wife. not much to go on. i have tried the transcribers web site with no luck. please help me if you can. thanks.
