Looking for info on Frank (Franz) Fisher, born 1819 & Theresa Fisher, born 1824 in Bohemia. They had several children, Bernard, Adolph, Mary & Hannah. Mary married Ernest Falk and moved to Kansas. Great grandmother Mary did not talk of her family. Need to know what happened to rest of Fishers. Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks Ruth,
I do appreciate the info. I keep coming to dead ends on this family. Trying to help my mother solve the mystery. I think I found when Hannah got married but cannot find the name of her husband. Would love to here from you again.

Hi Eileen,

If you can give me what you know about when hannah got married, maybe I can find something.

In the meantime, I found the following information.

Going back from the beginning:

ancestry.com 1860 census Waterloo, Jefferson County, Wisconsin

Frank Fisher, age 40, born about 1820 Bohemia, farmer
Theresa Fisher, age 35, born about 1825 Bohemia
Bernerd Fisher, age 16, born about 1844 Bohemia
Adolph Fisher, age 6, born about 1854 Wisconsin
Mary Fisher, age 3, born about 1857 Wisconsin
Ann Fisher, age 1, born about 1859 Wisconsin
--------------
I then found Franz, Theresa, Adolph, and Hannah in the following census, but I lost track of them after this:

ancestry.com 1870 census Town Emmet, Dodge County, Wisconsin

Franz Fisher, age 50, born about 1820 Bohemia, farmer
Theresa Fisher, age 45, born about 1825 Bohemia
Adolph Fisher, age 16, born about 1854 Wisconsin
Mary Fisher, age 12, born about 1858 Wisconsin
Hannah Fisher, age 10, born about 1860 Wisconsin
-------------
I found the marriage date of Mary and Ernest Falk in the Wisconsin marriage index. Maybe you can find a volunteer to look at the record. I also found them in the 1880 census in Kansas. Don't worry about Germany as place of birth. Some census records lists Germany instead of Bohemia, Poland, etc.:

Hi Ruth,
Thanks for the info on the Falk side. I'm going to use it to verify what I have. My mother's parents were Ernest & Margaret Falk.
The marriage date I have for Hannah Fisher is 14 May 1878, issued in Dodge Co., WI. It's great to have the info on Bernard - I'm checking to see if he has living great grandchildren. Still would love to know where Frank & Theresa are buried.
If you want, you can e-mail me at EileenLosito@yahoo.com I Do appreciate what you have given me!!!!

Hi Eileen,

Last night, I did look at that family in the 1880 census, because I was able to match up Hannah with a Joseph Brodesser. Then I thought that it couldn't be the Hannah you were looking for because she had a brother Charles Fischer living with them, and he did not match up with Hannah's brother Adolph. That, and the fact that the census stated that Johannah and Charles' parents were born in Bavaria. But, maybe it was her and Adolph, even though Charles' age was off quite a bit. I am sending you the 1880 and 1900 census info on this family. If it was your Hannah, then she might have died in 1894 in Milwaukee. Maybe you would want to check out her death record, and the marriage record. Let me know if you want the 1910-1930 census.

In case this is helpful, some of the Brodesser names/dates in this thread are also indexed in the local German papers; looking for German immigrants? look at German papers, right? Names like Johanna Brodesser (1894), Theodor (1909 or 1922), Joseph Brodesser. And there's a Gertrud Fischer, née Brodesser as well (if this is still part of a Fischer thread. There was also a widowed Brodesser named Maria, who remarried to a Schmitz.
