My Gr Gr Grandmother was Jennie Skapsky. Born about Nov 1878 in Michigan. Both her parents are from Bohemia. She married a William Miller in Michigan in 1895. My Gr Grandmother was their first child Ada Miller born in 1896. There is a Frank Sklapsky that lived in Lakefield township near Jennie and I believe this is her older brother. Any information on her or her parents would be most helpful. I believe they were Joseph and Mary, but that is just a guess.

Thanks for your time.

Dwayne, how sure you are of this spelling SKLAPSKY? I did not find any phone listing for this surname in Czech Republic.
Do you have a place of birth?

It appears I didn't reply to this, my apologies if that's the case.
I'm quite sure of the spelling, or at least that's how it's been spelled in a number of handwritten documents. I suppose the name could have been written by someone else but I'm led to believe that's not the case.
As far as birthplace it's noted as either Bohemia/Czechoslovakia or Germany. Not much help I know.

I have "Jenny's" parents as Joseph Sklapsky and Mary Ann Novak. Her parents were Martin Novak and Mary Tomashack.

Frank (Sr.) is her oldest brother, his son Frank (Jr.) is my grandfather.

You're welcome.
What documents do you have? Any other family name?
Family went to family in the beginning so who was your ancestor going to?

SKY is a male ending used in Czech Republic.

NOVAK is one of those common names found just about in every Slavic speaking country.

TOMASHACK could be Tomášek [ Tomas^ek]

CZ's phone book http://phone.quick.cz

Your grandfather's church baptismal record provides you his parents names and a place of birth, right?
