Szebnie & Buolzisz

I have a copy of my uncle's baptism record -- Przemyl is the dioceses and two communities mentioned are Szebnie and Buolzisz. If you can help me with these names it would be greatly appreciated, are these correct spellings, are they in the county of Pezemysl? I'm also looking for Jacob Lubas wife Constance and John Mysliwy wife Veronica. Both families had children in 1880's -- Peter Mysliwy, May 1881 and Cathereina Lubas, about 1882-84. Thank you in advance for any information or suggestions you might have.

Can you attach a scan of the document where Szebnie and Buolzisz [sp?] is written. Maybe it is Budzisz.

No idea where you need to go to find church records. You might try http://genforum.com Poland board.

Use one step/ www.stevemorse.org to find people [surnames] arriving NY Ellis Island from Szebnie [Szebuie] and Budzisz . You might get a little bit better spelling of your ancestral surnames or something you can work with.

Thanks again.
You are right about the spelling, Budzisz was an alternative that I had but couldn't get anything on the few Polish site I tried. When I looked at the record I have I thought it might be Buol instead.
I will give the suggested web sites a try and see what I can find.

I have a general question.. since parts of Poland were connected to Austria, was that called Galicia at that time -- all of the parts together? Is the name Galicia not used today?

I believe the word Galicia is not used today only in genealogy to show which historical region of Austria ones ancestor came from.

They were not "connected to Austria" they were ruled by Austria being Hungary was between them.

I was getting Galicia from ship manifests, census forms, etc.
Thanks for the help.

I thought that on this first day of a new year I would give a bit of an update.
You were right about Budzisz. Both of my grandparents came from the same region and attended the same church in Szebnie.
I have found a bit about some cousins from New Jersey. Their grandmother Agnes was either a sister or step sister to Katherine. There was another sister Maryanna who I think came here for a while and then returned to Poland to live. There was also a brother Jacob who also lived in New Jersey.
Katherine's parents were Jacob Lybas and Veronica Kopycinski and as far as I know they stayed in Budzsiz.
Alas as far as the Mysliwy's are concerned I still Have no siblings for Peter. His Parents were John Mysliwy and Constance Kroworyk and again as far as I know they stayed in Szebnie.
How is your searching going? I hope you've had more success than I have had.
