Searching for information on Nels Georgeson (1842-1915). Buried in Saxeville (Waushara County), with his wife Lena, and son Julius. Looking for ANY information on Nels' Civil War service. He is listed as a veteran but does not show up on any rosters. Did he have a different first name? Any help is most appreciated! Thank You!

I live near the Saxville cemetery. Would it help if I checked the gravestone? Need a photo? I am also checking the Gerogeson line, but not Nels. Mine the the "other" Christian Georgeson married Celia Rinder buried near Plainfield.

I found his Civil War information several years ago. He was in the Wisconsin rosters as Nels Jorgenson. He served in the 1st Wisconsin Cavalry. I ordered a proper military marker for him and set the marker a couple years ago. You will see it if you visit the cemetery in Saxeville by St. John's Church. He is to the immediate left when you go through the gate by the back of the church.
