My great great grandparents were Dennis Hanrahan and Mary English. My great grandfather was Thomas Hanrahan who was born in Ballybunion. He moved to Moyvane in County Kerry at a very young age and lived the rest of his life there as a farmer. I am familiar with the records of Ellen, Honora, and Dennis Hanrahan. In your query I noticed that you did not mention their son Dennis. Was there a Timothy Hanrahan or a Thomas that you might have heard about through word of mouth? I am interested in getting more information about the Hanrahan family. If you know of anything please don’t hesitate to pass along your information.

I think you need to check Hanrahan in Kenton County, Kentucky starting with William, and Dennis who had families there starting with the 1860 Census. Timothy is mentioned on several family trees there too. See what you think as I have an interest in these Hanrahans too.

My gggrandparents Johanna H. (STACK) and John Wilmer DALY, natives of Co. Kerry, Ireland, settled in Haverhill Twp., Olmsted Co., MN, in the 1870's. Her mother's name was Johanna HANRAHAN (b1804 to Patrick and Mary HANRAHAN of Co. Kerry).
In researching my own HANRAHAN and ENGLISH families from Co. Kerry who settled in Olmsted Co., I have found Dennis and Mary HANRAHAN, in 1878, Haverhill Twp., Olmsted Co., MN. He was b1856, Kentucky, both of his parents b Ireland; He lives next to John and Margaret ENGLISH. John HANRAHAN lives in the same twp. in 1878.
My ggggrandparents, Margaret (ENGLISH) and Jeremiah LAWLER, came from Co. Kerrry (Gullane and Ballybunion, respectively) and settled in Haverhill Twp. during 1858. Margaret was born in 1808 to Thomas and Catherine ENGLISH.
I am wondering if all of these people are all related somehow.

I am not sure, but just base on the names and where they lived, I would say yes. Denis's son Patrick Hanrahan, Was born in KY, I believe in 1856. I will look up my research and get back to you.
Thanks so much for answering.

I am wondering if my Johanna (Mrs. Garret STACK), born to Patrick and Mary HANRAHAN during 1804, in Co. Kerry, Ireland, could be the sister of your Denis HANRAHAN, born 1803. That would be the connection that brings their children, first cousins, Johanna (STACK) DALY and Patrick HANRAHAN, eventually to Olmsted Co., Minnesota. The DALY family and Patrick's son, Dennis, both lived in Haverhill Twp. in 1900.

Denis married Mary ENGLISH, and they had, at least, 6 kids: Patrick (b 1820 Ballybunion, d Olmsted Co., MN), Thomas (b Ballyb., d Moyvane, Co. Kerry), Daniel (b@1830 Ballyb., d @1875 Kenton Co., KY), Ellen (b1832 Gillane, Co. Kerry, bapt. Dec. 1, 1832 Ballyb.), Honora (b 1835 Gillane, bapt. May 29, 1835, Ballyb.), and Denis Jr. (b 1838 Kilconly, Co. Kerry, bapt. Oct. 4, 1838 Ballyb.);
Patrick and Daniel both end up in Kentucky (the latter in Kenton Co. where he fathered, at least, 7 kids, 1854-1866: Jane, John, Mary, Dennis, Daniel Jr., Catherine, and Ellen. Daniel arrived in NYC aboard the "Benjamin Adams" from Liverpool on Sept. 16, 1852.)
With his wife, Bridget, Patrick had, at least, 3 kids, all b KY: Dennis (b 1856), Bridget (b 1858), and Daniel T. (b 1859). He brought his family to Olmsted Co. about 1870.

Have you looked on the Olmsted County: http://www.olmstedhistory.com/ If you search the online database, there is a lot of information about all of these families. We are definitely related, because all the names you are researching show up in the names I am researching too. I will have to get it all put together, but I feel sure that your Mary and my Denis are for sure brother and sister.
Here is the section where you can search: http://www.olmstedhistory.com/research-center/searchable-onl...

Thanks for the quick response. No, I don't think my Johanna and your Denis are siblings. Acc. to Johanna's son, Patrick's bio. in St. Clair Co., IL, her father was Patrick Hanrahan. Your Denis' parents were, acc. to his bapt. record, John Hanrahan and Catherine Keane. However, our Johanna and Denis may be cousins. If only we could prove that their fathers, Patrick and John, are brothers. I think Patrick raised his family near Ballylongford, which is not far from Ballybunion in northern Co. Kerry. If you ever get these families hooked up, please let me know.
