Two of the Stubbs girls maried two McGovern Brothers in the mid 1800s. I'm looking for information on their McGovern descendants. Maybe we can help each other out.

I am also searching the Peacock settlers in Gore arrival approximately 1847. The family I am searching in particular is Mary (Kerr) Peacock - widow, her son George (b:1812) his wife Jane Synnott and their children - Mary b:1834, Geroge b:1838. Sarah b:1840, Ellen b:1843, James b:1844, Elizabeth b:1847, John b:1848, William b:1852, Edward b: 1855, Margaret b: 1859. There appears to be several Peacock families all settled in the same area. According to family stories several came to Canada together or within a short time of each other. This family of mine settled in Tossoronto. Can you connect? I do not appear to have any of the Peacock's listed in any of the posted messages. Jane Synnott's brother John - married to Catherine Peacock are believed to have settled in the Toronto Gore at approximately the same time as George, Jane and Mary (Kerr) Peacock.

Hi Ron, I too have relative buried in Ebeneezer Cemetary. A very kind person sent me a photocopied portion of a book that has a "history of Toronto Gore- Ebeneezer". I'll be happy to share. Kelly kgrayson1@mindspring.com

Hi Ron
You mention that Jane Allison is buried in Hilltop Gore which is correct. You also mention a headstone for John Saul in Ebenezer. I do not remember seeing one. Can you enlighten me? What dates?

I'm sorry, I don't remember. I did visit Ebenezer, but I also got some information from my sister in Brampton. I will have to visit again when I go to Brampton. You have, I'm sure visited Ebenezer, have you? Maybe it's incorrect info on my part as I think my sister got some info from paper records.
As I recall, John Saul died in Collingwood (I don't have my data handy, but it seems to me it was in that part of the province) but you didn't think he was buried there. I have been working on other lines over the winter so will get back to this one later. Have you learned anything more over the last few months.
I'll let you know when I check Ebenezer again. I look forward to your response.

I may be off the wall but Toronto Gore runs next to Nassagaweya Twsp Halton Co and Ebenizer church is on the Nassagaweya side. There are a lot of Fletchers and Allisons there. They are both interest of mine

Toronto Gore is on the east side of Peel Cty., while Halton Cty. lies west of Peel. There is an Ebenezer Church (now closed) and an Ebenezer Cemetery on the Gore Road, Toronto Gore Twp., Peel Cty.
I am awar of the Halton Cty families you mentioned but see no obvious connection to the Peel Cty ones. Of course, there may be, because the areas are relatively near each other.
