Thomas T. Manly/Manley>John A. Manley TN AL

My great grandfather was Thomas Henry Manly/Manley. He was born in Giles County, TN 1872 but moved early to either Lawrence or Colbert County, AL. He had a brother named Calvin and a sister named Mattie (Martha).
Their father was John A. Manley/Manly who married first Rebecca Rogers and second Henrietta Rogers (supposedly Rebecca's sister, but I have not proven that and think Henrietta may have been a cousin instead of a sister). John was born about 1849. John had a brother, William, who died the same day as John in either Lawrence Co., AL or Colbert County, Alabama.
John Manley/Manly may have been the son of Thomas T. Manley/Manly. They are living close together on the 1870 Giles County, Tennessee census and Thomas is living next door to William Manley/Manly, John's brother. Two different censuses have listed Thomas as born in two different places: AL and TN.
Anyone familiar with this family? Thanks!

My grandmother's parents were Henrietta and John Manley from Colbert County, AL. My great grandmother was a Rogers before she married John Manley. She had a sister named Lena. My grandmother married Thomas Cornelison and my father was their only son and his name was Thomas Allen. My aunts names from their marriage were Almedia, Mary, Margarette and Lottie. Names seem similiar, what do you think?
