BOREN MYSTERY!!!

BOREN MYSTERY!!!

I think have found a mystery!
John BOREN's first wife, Julia Ann GOTCHER died in Aug 1860. He & his three children are listed on the 1860 Collin Co., TX census living with his parents, William & Julia BOREN. The 1870 Collin Co., TX census shows that John has married Lucinda PICKREL.
By the 1880 Collin Co., TX census, John & Lucinda have 6 children living with them. In my files, I show the following children for John & Lucinda: (1) Julia Ann BOREN b. 15 Dec 1870 Pike, Collin Co., TX, d. 14 Sep 1959 McKinney, Collin Co., TX, bd. Indian Creek Cemetery, Collin Co., TX, marr. William Henry BRIMER; (2) Jesse Walter BOREN b. 1 Jul 1872 Pike, Collin Co., TX, d. 29 Sep 1947 Wilmington, Los Angeles Co., CA, bd. Harp Cemetery, Hot Spring Co., AR, marr twice; (3) Delia BOREN b. 12 May 1874 Pike, Collin Co., TX, marr. Unknown HUNTER; (4) Vina A. (Vinnie) BOREN b. May 1874 Pike, Collin Co., TX, marr. #1 Unknown McINTIRE, #2 John HUNTER; (5) Frances (Fannie) BOREN b. 26 Nov 1876 Pike, Collin Co., TX, d. 20 Jan 1964 Grayson Co., TX, marr. George Washington HALIBURTON; (#6) Isom J. BOREN b. Mar 1878 Pike, Collin Co., TX, d. 1961 Collin Co., TX, bd. Pike Cemetery, Collin Co., TX, marr. Ruth Mary FRANKLIN; (#7) Nelly Maude BOREN b. 13 Feb 1880 Pike, Collin Co., TX, marr. Joseph Richard PARKER.
Note that on both the 1900 & 1910 Collin Co., TX census, Lucinda is living with her son Isam BOREN & she says that she is the mother of six children, not seven.

Now, here is where the mystery comes into play! Are Delia & Vina the same person or is Delia not a BOREN? I cannot find Delia with John & Lucinda. Note below that there is no Delia shown with the family in 1880.
Note below on the 1900 Collin Co., TX census, John's wife is Vina A. & she is the mother of 4 children. 2 of them were Hettie & Charles McINTIRE, children of Vina's first husband. John & Vina had been married 4 years.

On the 1910 Hunt Co., TX census, John's wife is Delia & she is the mother of 8 children. John & Delia had been married 13 years. The clue is that in 1910, the census shows that Delia has 8 living children but only seven are living with her & John. Note that the 7th child was Charles McINTIRE. Charles is shown as a stepson of John. The eighth child would be Hettie McINTIRE. Remember that I show Vina as having been married to a Mr. McINTIRE & Hettie & Charles were their children. The mystery is: Does this prove that Delia & Vina were the same person?
Check with your other sources & see what they think. I have a headache from trying to explain this!!!

I must have some things mixed up. On this 1860 census that I have retyped below......

1860 US Census, Pilot Grove, Collin Co., TX, Pct. #6, Page #82B
12. BOREN, William 74 SC farmer
13. BOREN, Julia 69 KY
14. BOREN, John 36 AR farmer
15. BOREN, Richard 33 AR farmer
16. BOREN, William 20 AR farmer
17. BOREN, Isham 17 TX farmer
18. BOREN, Alexander 15 TX farmer
19. BOREN, John 4 TX
20. BOREN, William 5 TX
21. BOREN, Alfred 3 TX
22. BOREN, Mary 1 TX
23. MOYE, Margarette 22 AL
24. MOYE, Joseph R. 3/12 T

....I have questions:
1) Who is John age 4 born TX?
2) Who is Margarette age 22 AL and obviously her son Joseph?

This is what my records show-------
Regarding John Boren and his wives

wife #1 Julia Gotcher's children are:
1) William, born 1855 in TX no wife listed
2) Alfred, born Aug 1857 in TX marr Martha Amanda (Mandy) Cotton
3) Mary, born 1859 in TX marr David Harrison Daniel

wife #2 Lucinda Reller or Rilla Pickrel's children are:
1) Julia A, born 15 Dec 1870 in Pike, Collin, TX marr Williiam Henry Brimer/Brymer
2) Jessie Walter, born 1 July 1872 in Pike, Collin, TX marr lst)Teri, 2nd)Nannie, and 3rd)Sally Carolyn (Callie) Younger

I have 2 Delia's in my files

2) daughter of Oscar Booth Boren and Vesta Jane Perkins Boren no spouse listed

Deb,

The John BOREN age 4 (b. 1856) on line #19 is the son of Richard BOREN age 33 on line #15 & his first wife, Sarah Jane GLASS. I show that Richard & Sarah Jane were divorced. I'm not sure of the exact divorce date but Sarah Jane was married 4 Feb 1858 in Collin Co., TX to her second husband, David S. CASPER.
I do not have Margarette or Joseph MOYE in my files but I am sure that they are related to the MOYE line which married into the BORENS.
I agree with the children of John BOREN & his wives, Julia Ann GOTCHER & Lucinda Rilla PICKREL, except for a couple of minor points.
William Alfred BOREN's wife Amanda spelled her maiden name "COTTEN" with an "E", not an "O".
I do not show a third wife named Teri for Jesse Walter BOREN. That does not mean that he was not married to her, only that I did not know about her.
I show the daughter of Oscar Booth BOREN & Vesta Jane PARKINS to be Delilah Frances (Lila) BOREN b. 1908 TX. I show that Delilah married Charlie Eval POTTS. It would appear that she was named after her grandmother, Delilah Fanny BRAKE BOREN. I feel like Fanny's real name was Francis & Fanny was a nickname. I haven't tried to find Delilah & Charlie POTTS on the census records yet. Maybe later.
I also have Delia BOREN, the daughter of Jack Harrison BOREN & Delilah BRAKE, in my files. I also have her as married to Alexander DAY.

I have Miriam Boren died in 1863 in Sayre, Beckham, OK and her husband James Wilson Daniel die 5 June 1863 in Houston, Harris, TX. When did Miriam have time to marry John Copeland. Who raised the Daniel children after parents both died in same year?

Deb,

I found Tennessee DANIEL living with her aunt, Josephine DANIEL, in 1870 Collin Co., TX but I have not yet found the other children. Evidently, family members took the children to raise.
Josephine had a sister named Tennessee Polk DANIEL but she was born in 1844 TN. She was living in Collin Co., TX with her husband, Daniel HUSON & family.

My great-great-great grandparents were William and Fannie Scaggs\Skaggs Pickrel, parents of Lucinda Pickrel. Do you have any more info on Lucinda or her parent? I have not been able to go back any farther that William Pickrel. I do know that Fannie's mother name was Jane Scaggs/Skaggs, also born in Kentucky. Jane Skaggs also had a son named Isham, he would have been Fannie's brother and Lucinda's uncle. I have a little more info on William and Fannie Pickrel's descendents and on Jane Skaggs other children, if you would like.
