Hi, Mary-Lynne! This is the third time I've typed this! Hope it goes through this time! My husband also is a g-g-g?-grandson of John Henry Flieger. Bob's mother's name was Dorothy Anderson Steele, born in Mulgrave, N.S., and her mother was Bridget Flieger Anderson. A few months ago Bob received a privately-printed booklet about John Henry, and we now know that he was a Hessian soldier fighting in the British Army during the American Rev. At the end of the fighting, John Henry was re-located by the British, along with other United Empire Loyalists, to Halifax, N.S. The booklet tells quite a lot about his life in Halifax and about his descendants. We are willing to share this info if you will get in touch with us. Mary Steele

I'm doing research on a branch of the Flieger family. Is the privately printed book you're talking about dated 1989 "In Search of John Henry Flieger" and written by Ellen Elizabeth Flieger Kilbride?

Let me know so we can share info.
