I would appreciate any information about Carrie May Cornell, my great grandmother. Born around 1892, possibly Middletown, NY. Also possibly adopted by Cornell family. Used Cora as first name, last name later Reed, then married Storms. Died Dutchess County, Ny 1946

Rick, My 3rd gr grandfather, Ambrose C Cornell was B. July 25, 1831 in NY. He had 4 children but all where born in Ill. I now this information is probably of no help but I was just interested in the fact that my maiden name is Cornell and I married a Totten. Where are your Tottens from? I am doing research on all branches of my family. And would be interested to see if you may be a part of my husbands. He was from Olney, IL. As where his parents and grandparents. If You feel like answering I would love to here from you. Sincerely Louella Totten

Louella,
There is probably no Cornell connection as my great-grandmother was apparently adopted by a Cornell family in NY State. As for my Totten ancestors, they were from Westchester County, New York. Some Tottens from that area early on moved westward as the frontier opened up. If I can be of any help with Tottens originating in this area, let me know.
