Does anyone have any info on Robert Arms of Wilkes county, N.C. b: 1760-1770? He is on the 1800 Federal census for Wilksboro, Wilkes county, N.C. -- this Robert Arms may also be the one on the 1810, & 1820 census records.

My great, great grandmother was Martha Adeline Sizemore (b. 1835 Ashe Co. NC). She was Robert Arms' grandaughter. Her mother was Frankie Virginia "Jennie" Arms (m. to Rev. John Sizemore.) Jennie's parents were Robert Arms & Martha Fugett.) From what I know...Adeline escaped the Trail of Tears by going up into W VA mountains with her grandfather. I'm not sure which grandfather- Robert Arms or Edward B. Sizemore. FYI- Adeline and husband Numa Walker (b.1829) lived mostly around the Beckley and Egeria W. Va. areas. Adeline is buried in the Keaton Mills Cemetary (for sure) in or near Beckley, West Virginia.
I hope this helps. I'm new to this family research stuff but I hope this helps. Maybe Robert ended up in West Virginia as well.

I am so sorry at the delay. Decided to be utterly confused by the other side of my family for a while. From what I know... Robert Arms m. Matha Fugett (Fugate?)- childred were:

1- Frankie Virginia "Jennie" Arms b. married Rev. John Sizemore

2- Margaret "Peggy" Arms- "Marriages of Wyoming Co, Virginia" states that on Aug. 28, 1856... Albert Cline, 57 yr old widower born in Montgomery Co. VA married a 49 yr old widow named Peggy Cline (born in Wilkes Co., NC& daughter of Martha Fugett & Robert Arms)

3- Martha Seaberry Arms b. abt 1815 d. 1866- Married to Solomon Osborne (his 1st wife). They eventually sold property they owned on in on Thompson Mtn. in Virginia and ended up in Wyoming Co. Va (West Virginia only after 1863). Listed on 1850 Census for Wyoming Co.

You probably already received this info by now.

PS- Good luck if you're working on an Indian connection. I honestly don't know if anyone will ever pinpoint where it is exactly. I've read all kinds of stuff and some sounds pretty wild. But who knows!

I show a John SIzemore along with Edward SIzemore and Solomon Osborn (Osburn) on the 1840
Logan Co VA census. I don't have anything on Robert Arms past 1820 in Wilkes

I am wondering if Robert Arms is related to John Arm(e)s born abt. 1810-1813. Married to Rachel. Children Lettie, Eliza Jane, Sarah, Mary Ann and Susanah Caroline.? John is my GGGGGrandfather.
