Archer V. Davidson was the son of Allen Davidson and Lucy Alice (Walker) Davidson of Charlotte County, VA. Archer V. Davidson married Amanda Sublett, and they moved to Bedford County, VA and had their children there in the mid-late 1800s. Allen Davidson and his wife also had a son named Thomas Booker Davidson, and Allen was a founding member of Midway Church in Charlotte County, VA. One of Allen's daughters married a Mr. Mason and one married a Mr. Pentecost.

I am trying to determine the parents of Allen Davidson. Allen and Archer V. Davidson MAY have been related to Baker W. Davidson who married Ann Hamner Cobbs in Bedford County, VA in 1827 (before moving to Buckingham County, VA). Baker W. Davidson had an uncle named Archer A. Davidson who lived in Charlotte County, VA at the same time as Allen Davidson. I believe that Allen died fairly young around 1839. Any/all information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

UPDATE: Per DNA testing, it now seems certain that Allen Davidson and his son Archer Vaughan Davidson in Charlotte Co., VA were NOT related to Archer A. Davidson and Baker W. Davidson in Charlotte Co., VA. Also, Archer A. Davidson was a BROTHER to Baker W. Davidson and also to William W. Davidson (their parents were Baker Davidson and Elizabeth "Betsy" Womack). Archer A. Davidson was almost certainly named for Archer Womack, while Archer Vaughan Davidson was almost certainly named for the man in Charlotte Co., VA who was named Archer Vaughan.
