I am looking for my grandmother and grandfathers people. They lived on the Chitimacha reservation in St.Martin in the early 1800's and late 1700's. On my grandmother's side were Rochon and Neveu- interchanged this name with Armelin. On my grandfather's side was Zuleme Falcon (Vilcans)and Louis (Pontfil) Dugas. I am puzzled by Ponfil. I can not find reference to the marriage of Louis Dugas to Zuleme Falcon. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey.......
My Grandmother who died a few weeks agao, was Bertha Neveu....... her parents were John and Rosa. She married Bill ( william) Boutte of Lake Charles Lousianna. Her family was born on a reservation in st.martin's ville. Do you know anything....... Bertha was 94 years old @ time fo death.

Your grandmother Bertha Neveu was my grandfather's half sister. My grandfather was Fortunet Neveu. I would like to touch basis with you on the Neveu family.

I see your grandfather's name was Fortunet Neveu, would he have any relation to Flavien or Flavius Neveu. My grandfather was Flavien Joseph Neveu Jr. from St. Martin Parish. His parents were according to Flavius Sr. and Lydia Nepveux. Flavien/Flavius's siblings were Louis, Theodora, Abraham, Fortune, & Emma Nepveux.

yes, my grandfather's brother was Flavien Neveu. Fortune (Fortunet)is the same person. My mother was Fortunet's oldest child & daughter. Flavien's children are: Olga, Ivory, Flavien, Bessie Mae & Melvin.I think I have them all. Fortunet's children are Velma, Irwin, Dockie, Gloria, Catherine, Theresa, Junior and Elva.

Thanks for information. We are trying to find out as much information to try and put together a family reunion that expands all across America and France. My grandfather had a letter from cousins in France, but since he passed no one knows where the letter is. I will keep in touch and try to upload photos to share.
