I am searching for the ancestry of my grandfather . I have minimum factual information:

From my mother’s birth certificate: Claud was born in 1879 or 1880 in Wisconsin

From tombstone: Claud died in 1919 and is buried in Merced, CA

Personal communication from my uncle, Adelbert Delyle Wescott:

Claud brother, “Herbert Edward Wescott” was also born in Wi

Claud’s brother, "Jay Wescott", was in the steel business in Chicago in 1940.

Jay’s daughter was an actress, singer on stage in the 1940’s

From ss death index: SSN #331-46-9858 b-20 mar 1884, d-oct 1970; last known residence-Chicago,Il 60614

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Don,

Don't know if you've checked it out, but there are WESTCOTT researchers posting on the Oconto County, WI pages. This surname is well-known in Oconto & Shawano Counties, from the lumbering days.

Maybe you can make a connection there?

I am descended from Catherine Cornue who married Phillip C. Tremper and had son Edgar Tremper, born 8/18/1848. Catherine's parents were Daniel T. Cornue and Maria Van Evera, married 1/28/1816 in Montgomery County, New York, by Rev. John Toll, Reformed Dutch Church. I have other marriage data on Cornues.

I noticed two Wescott's listed as witnesses in my great grandparents wedding in the Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon Co., WI in 1894. The names were Wallie and Julia Wescott. Maybe they were friends of family, don't know, but they were probably from this area of Southern Marathon Co. Hope this helps you.

Daniel I Cornue & Maria VanEvera moved to Linn Twp, Walworth Cty in 1844. Daniel A. Cornue (our direct) & Daniel I. were cousins. Several Cornues came around that time. Have photos of Daniel I., Maria, Catherine "Kate" Cornue, Phillip & Edgar Tremper. Would send copies. Willing to share info. Feel free to email me.

Would be interested in info you would have on Catherine Cornue & Phillip Tremper family. Do you also have info on Phillip's parents?

To Bonnie Cornue: I have gathered info on Cornue, Van Evera (with many different spellings) and Tremper, but I can't confirm links for this info to my ancestors. I am descended from Edgar Tremper, son of Phillip Tremper and Catherine Cornue. I have no info on Phillip's parents/family. Please contact me at: 2xnitta@dslextreme.com. I would love to share info I have and receive copies of any photos you have.
