The Arters originally came to and settled near
Frederick, Maryland. Abraham Arter and his
wife Magdalena Hahn Arter moved to Columbiana
County, Ohio. There is a complete family
history of the Arter family in the Lisbon
Public Library. If you are interested in more
information please contact me. My husband is
a descendant of Dr. Daniel Arter and his wife
May or Mary Jarrett. Darlene

Hello, my biological father's name was Herbert James Arter II. His mother's name was Bertha May Arter before she divorced his father in the 70's. He had two sister's one of which was named Betty or Barbra.I was wondering if you had found any info on this branch of the Arter family? The last place they resided was in Columbus, Ohio. I would appreciate any info you could give me.
Thank you for your time.

My father. also Stephen Arter Evans, was born in Salem Ohio. His mother was Oletta Arter who married Albert J. Evans in Salem in 1897. Her father was Aaron Burger Arter from Colombiana county who is buried in Omaja Cuba where the family lived in the early 1900s. I believe Aaron's father was Simon Arter the brother of Dr. Daniel Arter and the son of Abraham and Magdalena Arter. Any information that you have on this branch of the family would be appreciated - especially why and when they were in Cuba. I would appreciate any information you have on Albert Evans. The family lived in Milbourne, Pennsylvania in the 1930's where my father met my mother Ethel Rae Reed.

My name is Adrienne M. Arter, I am the daughter of Glenn Allen Arter who was born in Lisbon, Ohio around 1925. His father was James Star Arter. James married Fronia Isley and they had 2 sons, Glen & David. I also know James had 2 sisters, Mini & Dora - possibly more siblings.
I would love any information. Also, if there is a way to obtian a copy of the Arter history from the Lisbon library.
Many thanks,
Adrienne
This is one of my 1st attempts.
