Hi. This is Christina and Leann . We are Joes(Francis Joseph McDaid) daughters.Granddaughters of William McDaid and and Margaret. I am not very good with adding information to the family tree on the computer, but if anyone would like to contact us, we can give ALOT of information. It has been so long since we have seen anyone in the family. We saw a few of you at our dads funeral in 1994. If anyone would like to talk with us, PLEASE email me at cflanik@plix.com.

Hi Christina and Leann,
Are your McDaids related to Alexander McDaid b 1828 Londondery, Ireland and wife Eleanor Bartrim b 1830 Armagh Ireland? They came to the US around 1844, married in PA and settled in Michigan. If so, then we are related and I have recently found several cousins. Look forward to hearing from you.

Do your McDaid ancestors have any connections to the Panama Canal Zone? I am looking for McDaids who lived there between 1915 and 1960 (give or take a few years).

Do you know where and when your William McDaid was born? who his parents? siblings were,? and maybe who they married. Children of all?
I have two William McDaids, but its to complicated to try to post here without writing a short novel!. If you can help with dates, etc. maybe we can find a connection.
Do you have any McDevits, Doherty's, Mullier, Callaghan's Harkins, Bradley's ?
Thank you You may e-mail me at Nsambradley@aol.com if you would rather do that.

Hi, Nikki. Nice to hear from another McDaid cousin! The tombstone photos you found online were taken by me and another cousin. I was in Ireland a few years ago and managed to locate the cemetery. It hasn't been used since the 1950s so is a bit isolated and hard to find unless you know exactly where to look.

I'm in touch with several cousins and there is no information on Joseph or Sarah's parentage that any of us have found. The majority of Ireland's older records were burned in a fire back in the 1920s so it's very difficult to locate information before the 1900s. What we have found is that our McDaids were most likely Presbyterian, which means they probably immigrated from Scotland at some point. I've moved my research for Joseph to Scotland but haven't found anything else yet. We still don't know Sarah's maiden name so unless we find that, we're at a brick wall with her.

From John McDaid's will, we do know that Alexander was the only one to immigrate to the states and the only one of the siblings to marry and have children. I have photos of Alex, John (his twin), Mary Jane and Ann. Feel free to email me at deadseeker@aol.com if you'd like copies. When you email me, please include which of Alexander's children you descend from because I have info on all of them.

I uploaded these McDaid cemetery photos a few years ago so feel free to copy and save them to your computer if you haven't already.
